Heart & Soul Group

Heart & Soul Group provides fruit, veg, bakery and pantry items to vulnerable families and people in Adelaide and the Adelaide Hills.

Fresh fruit and vegetables, bakery and some pantry items are available for attendees to choose for themselves. Discounted snack foods and other extras are available to be purchased.

Western Suburbs Free Food Market at Wingfield is open Monday to Friday from 10 am to 2 pm at 30 Fourth St, Wingfield (closed public holidays)

Southern Suburbs Free Food Market is open Monday to Friday from 10am to 2pm at Colonnades Shopping Centre (Opposite Colonnades Tavern in the Square)

If you are unable to attend any of the Free Food Markets and require food assistance, please order a free food hamper via the online store. A $15 delivery charge applies.

Deliveries will be made as follows:

- Northern Suburbs - Wingfield to Two Wells: Every Wednesday, orders must be placed by mid-day Tuesday

- Central Adelaide Suburbs - Beach to the foothills, Wingfield to Seacombe Gardens: Every Friday, orders must be placed by Midday Thursday

- Southern Suburbs - From the hill up, to Aldinga Beach: Every Tuesday, orders must be placed by Midday Monday

- Adelaide Hills - Mt Barker/Strathalbyn/Murray Bridge: Every Thursday, orders must be placed by Midday Wednesday

Delivery addresses cannot be changed once the hamper is on its work. If you will not be at the address specified on your order, your hamper will be left in a safe place at your delivery address.

Unfortunately dietary requirements cannot be accommodated, so please take this into account when placing your order.

All welcome, no Centrelink or health care cards are required.

Emergency Relief

PLEASE NOTE: Some of these services may, at times, move to phone based appointments.

There are organisations across South Australia that help people struggling with the cost of living pressures by providing the basic essentials. Support such as food, food vouchers, e-vouchers, blankets, clothes, assistance with bills, utilities and furniture. Help may also include medications, access to free glasses, and referrals for assistance with dental care.

Many centres provide budget counselling and mentoring, financial counselling, personal counselling and links to other community programs.

Community Take Away Meals

Community meals are free and low cost meals provided across Adelaide and South Australia. Some services provide take home packs. Please check with each service to see if there is a cost as well as when and where the meals are provided.

Cos We Care

Cos We Care supports the homeless and vulnerable in South Australia by providing meals and other essential items such as toiletries and clothing.

The program is open to anyone in need and can be located at South Terrace, Adelaide and Freemont Park, Elizabeth

Fred's Van

Provides a free hot meal, blankets, clothing, food vouchers, books and referral to other community services and government agencies. Fred's Van is open to anyone in need and operates at ten locations across Adelaide and regional South Australia.

Faithworks Assist - Food Giveaways

The Faithworks Assist food service provides food for free to those in need, across the Adelaide area and also in some regional areas of South Australia.

To enable Faithworks to service such a large geographical area, they rely on other agencies and churches to host food giveaways.

Foodbank - Find Food Support

You can find emergency food relief on the Foodbank website, here. Users can enter their postcode to find the closest food bank to their location. You can filter by food to prepare or ready-made meals on site, or both.

The website also includes information on how to access food relief, eligibility criteria, and frequently asked questions.

Grow Free

Grow Free is about growing and giving away vegetables, herbs and flower seedlings so that people can start a garden. There are also sharing carts where people can pick up or drop off free produce and seedlings.

Carts are placed throughout Adelaide and South Australia.
