Genesis Pregnancy Support

Genesis is a non-denominational, not-for-profit, Christian organisation that is dedicated to the following:

- Provide counselling and support to women experiencing an unplanned or unsupported pregnancy.

- Provide free material assistance to any single, unsupported pregnant woman or new mum.

- Provide affordable baby gear for mums and families who are struggling financially.

- Provide emotional support, education and encouragement to single mums and mums-to-be through regional support groups.

- Supporting mothers who are facing significant challenges to develop the skills they need for their child and themselves to thrive.

- Provide post-abortion counselling and recovery retreats for women who are struggling after an abortion.

- Provide preventative and protective sex and relationship education programs to school students and parents.

- Conduct educational information sessions addressing current sexual health concerns and the issues associated with unplanned pregnancy.

- Promote community awareness of our services and the needs of those we seek to help.

Hepatitis SA

Hepatitis SA is a non-profit, community-based organisation that provides information, education and support services to South Australians affected by hepatitis B and hepatitis C. This includes people with hepatitis B or C, their family and friends, and professionals who support them. We also provide hepatitis C and Needle and Syringe Program (NSP) peer education and support services and operate an NSP secondary site.

Hepatitis SA provides confidential support for people affected by viral hepatitis, including a telephone information and support line, face-to-face information sessions and regular support groups at Port Adelaide and Hackney.

If you need to speak to someone for support on hepatitis-related issues, call the Helpline on 1800 437 222.

The Hepatitis SA Helpline is free, confidential and non-judgmental. It is available Monday to Friday, 9 am to 5 pm, to people living with hepatitis B or C, their family, friends, or service providers.

You can access live chat on the Hepatitis SA website.

If you are affected by hepatitis B or C and would prefer to speak to somebody in person for support, call 1800 437 222 to make an appointment for a face-to-face session.

A free 24/7 telephone health information and advice service. When you call healthdirect you speak directly with a Registered Nurse about your health issue or concern.

Hearing and speech impairment callers please call National Relay Service 1800 555 677 and ask to be transferred to healthdirect.

If you need an interpreter, call TIS National on 131 450 and ask to be transferred to healthdirect.

Life Support & Energy Bills

If you or someone at your home relies on life support equipment, it is important to let your energy provider know to ensure you are not disconnected, and allow for advanced notice of any planned interruptions to your energy supply.

Life support equipment can include any of the following:

- An oxygen concentrator

- An intermittent peritoneal dialysis machine

- A kidney dialysis machine

- A chronic positive airways pressure respirator

- Crigler najjar syndrome phototherapy equipment

- A ventilator for life support

- Any other equipment that a doctor says is needed for life support

To register for life support protection, contact your energy provider, who will send you a medical confirmation form to be completed by you and your doctor.

Lifetime Support

The Lifetime Support Authority (LSA) delivers the Lifetime Support Scheme (LSS). This service can support people who have been seriously injured in a motor vehicle accident in South Australia.

Assists people who require regular medical services or medicines by reducing the cost or providing free services or products once they reach the threshold of out of pocket expenses within a calendar year. MOSAIC Blood Borne Viruses Support Services

MOSAIC Blood Borne Viruses Support Services provide free and confidential support to anyone in South Australia who has been diagnosed with, or is at risk of HIV and/or viral hepatitis.

They can help with:

- Counselling, case management and advocacy

- Prisoner Support

- Medical treatment support

- Identifying strengths and resources

- Effects of stigma and discrimination

- Referrals to other services

My Aged Care

My Aged Care is for Australians aged 65 years or older (50 years or older for Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander people).

This service provides information on the different types of aged care services available - for example - services that help you live independently at home, short-term care that helps you get back on your feet, or moving into a residential facility.

My Aged Care also provides:

- an assessment of needs to identify eligibility and the right type of care

- referrals and support to find service providers that can meet your needs

- information on what you might need to pay towards the cost of your care

Eligibility is based on factors like your health, how you're managing at home, and any support you currently receive. You may be eligible for aged care services if you have:

- noticed a change in what you can do or remember

- been diagnosed with a medical condition or reduced mobility

- experienced a change in family care arrangements

- experienced a recent fall or hospital admission

Note: If you are on a low income or homeless (or at risk of being homeless), and aged 50 years or older (45 years or older for Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander people), you can call My Aged Care to discuss your situation.
